(from our post on Facebook in the morning of 3/22/2020)
For patients and the community at large:
Unless mandated to close by the government, Fix The Cause Chiropractic will remain open to serve patients.
We believe chiropractic makes the body work better. If nothing else, adjustments in the middle back enable the rib cage to move more freely, and as COVID causes respiratory issues and breathing difficulty, this could be critical to a patient’s health.
DESPITE our resolve to remain open, we will not be casual and unconcerned. We are wiping commonly used surfaces between patients with appropriate wipes. We have hand sanitizer available and I am using it between patients (though with hoarding at the stores, it is limited).
Patients who wish can remain in their vehicles until we are ready for them in the office – we just ask our patients to notify us if they will be waiting in their car so we can alert them when their appointment is ready.
IF you have the symptoms of this illness – cough, sore throat, fever and difficulty breathing – please call us to reschedule your appointment until AFTER you can be tested for COVID-19.
We are taking this issue seriously while at the same time ensuring that we continue to help our patients’ bodies function at peak efficiency.
Please be in contact with our office if you have any concerns not addressed here. And keep an eye on our blog for interesting information as it becomes available. fixthecause.wordpress.com
May God bless you all. See you Monday.

UPDATE 3/22/2020, 3:30 P.M. – Governor Abbott has released a statement about what industries are considered to be “essential”. The second bullet point on his statement includes “Caregivers”, and the examples include physicians, physical therapists, and therapeutic technicians – as Chiropractic encompasses aspects of all three, we are proceeding on the grounds that Chiropractic is an essential service, and will continue to remain open unless we are ordered otherwise.
Additionally, Chiropractic is included in the “shelter in place” order from Dallas county when it comes to medical appointments. See the precautions above that we are taking to ensure limited exposure of our patients.
We will continually assess the situation and the safety of our staff and patients as this issue progresses.
